Released in 1995, Twisted Metal was one of the earliest titles to establish the original PlayStation as a home for distinctive new franchises. Developed by SingleTrac and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, it combined vehicular combat, dark humour and destructive arena battles into a formula unlike traditional racing games of the era. Its memorable cast of combatants, including the now-iconic Sweet Tooth, helped launch one of PlayStation's longest-running franchises. Today, original Black Label copies in exceptionally well-preserved condition are particularly appealing to collectors of early PlayStation releases.
