Released in 2003, Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness marked Lara Croft's debut on the PlayStation 2, introducing a darker storyline and a more mature tone for the iconic adventurer. Developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive, the game follows Lara as she uncovers a conspiracy involving ancient artefacts, secret societies and supernatural forces while on the run for a crime she didn't commit.
Although its ambitious scope divided critics at launch, The Angel of Darkness has since gained a dedicated cult following among Tomb Raider fans and remains an important chapter in Lara Croft's history. Complete Australian Black Label copies continue to be popular with collectors looking to preserve the original PlayStation 2 release.
