Released in 2000, World Destruction League: Thunder Tanks took vehicular combat in a different direction by replacing cars with heavily armed tanks battling for supremacy in a fictional post-apocalyptic sports league. Developed by The 3DO Company and published by 3DO, the game combines arcade-style action with destructible arenas, outrageous weapons and a cast of eccentric competitors. Featuring both single-player tournaments and local multiplayer battles, Thunder Tanks became one of the more unique launch-window experiences on the PlayStation 2 and remains an interesting addition to any collection of early PS2 titles.
