Released in 2005, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi brought a fresh perspective to Dragon Ball fighting games by introducing fully 3D arenas and fast-paced aerial combat. Developed by Spike and published by Atari, players could battle across expansive destructible environments while controlling many of the series' most iconic heroes and villains. Its cinematic presentation and faithful recreation of the anime made it an instant fan favourite and the beginning of one of the PlayStation 2's most beloved fighting game franchises.
